I began tutoring with Joe in May 2024, Joe was finishing up in S2 just transitioning into S3; he was apprehensive about starting the National 5 curriculum and was looking for some support. Joe and I work together once a week for an hour in person and work on the foundational knowledge for S3 and how he can advance this to S4 level to get him ahead of the curriculum and be in a position to excel when his exams arrive. Joe has already been excelling since we began getting near full marks in each end of topic test.

At the same time I also began working with Joe’s sister Isla. Isla is in S5 and has her upcoming mocks. Each week I support Isla with in person lessons to help with her Higher Maths and Higher Human Biology. I collect Isla from school and take her to a local coffee shop each week for 2 hours where we spend an hour per subject revising, often through the form of past paper questions. Isla has improved incredibly since our time together and recently scored 70% in her Human Biology Unit 1 exam. I have also provided both students with revision materials, practise questions and will be providing revision timetables and study packs for upcoming exams to each of them.
