I began working with James during August 2023, these lessons were once a week to support his learning around numeracy and literacy. Lessons are hour long and broken into 4 activities each, a numeracy activity, a reading activity, a spelling activity and a grammar/writing activity. Occasionally we added in other lessons from the curriculum tied in with numeracy and literacy too, and supported any homework given by the school.The work we completed was coordinated with what work he needs most support on when in the classroom to replicate that in our lessons. James has improved his skills and abilities significantly over the last year. During this time I also began tutoring James’ older sister Lacey. These lessons were once a week to support his learning around numeracy and literacy. Lessons are hour long and broken into 2 activities each, a numeracy activity, and a grammar, writing or comprehension activity. Lacey’s comprehension most notably improved vastly and has left her in a great position to start secondary school.
