I left school in 2016, where I began caring for young children as a Governess. I was headhunted to work for a family in London and during this time I began my Undergraduate degree. I studied full time with the Open University to attain my Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Psychology, specialising in Paediatric Neurology.
I continued to move around as a Governess, before beginning my Post Graduate Diploma of Education, PGDE. Following this, I worked as a Teacher in Clackmannanshire, and then as a Schools and Education Project Coordinator for a charity.
Becca’s tutoring originally began in 2019, when the family I was working for asked if I could work extra hours at weekends to support the students’ learning. I found a real passion for teaching, combined with my love for working with young people.
It was from here that Becca’s Tutoring flourished and continued as a part time job throughout my studies and other full time work. In the Summer of 2024, my contract was ending and I decided to take the leap full time to tutoring. Becca’s Tutoring had a complete rebranding and began its journey as BEST- Becca’s Educational Services and Tutoring.
I have been full time tutoring since September 2024. I have tutored over 150 students to present, ranging in age from 4 to 63. I cannot wait to see how BEST will support young people to excel and ‘become their best’ this year.
